All promised to look at competitor’s sites and improve mine. They want $500 to $1000. I don’t know if I should give them the job, having been burned before. And of course there are no guarantees.

In the meanwhile a dear friend recommended to me www.sitesell.com. It is an amazing package which for newbies like myself takes you through the process of choosing keywords, narrowing down the business concept, finding ways to monetize the business and – I have just reached so far.

But it is light at the end of the tunnel! After receiving so many visitors to my sites and not getting any conversions, I had just stopped doing any work on them for 3 weeks!

I have received more than 3000 unique visitors to both www.taxhavencompany.com and www.cosmetics-hair.com but no conversions.

After feeling dejected and racking my brains for a solution I am back to finding one after a 3 week break not looking at the 2 businesses!

I dont know where to learn about conversions! Must find another internet guru. Maybe my products are not interesting?

Very few conversions though.

My internet marketing gurus tell me to stop sending emails, and to start a more focused approach via articles, links, affiliates and AdWords.

So, my career as a bulk emailer who was gradually shifting to being branded a spammer, has ended and I am now delving into the intricacies of Google’s AdWords!

Building up a list. And sending sales pitches every week to the cumulative list! Now my email list is around 42,000 and I was sending 2 sales pitches [with all the proper links for people to unsubscribe!] to them every week for the last 4 weeks!

Yesterday to my horror one of my websites was suspended. On enquiry I discovered that I had exceeded the limit of sinding 200 emails per hour! I learnt about ‘throttling’ my email application. So at this rate I would send one message every 210 hrs. But thats not all. If the mailing list has more than a 2-3000 email Ids, only the first 200 go and then it stops!

So while I was sitting and wondering why more people were not coming to my site – it was because only 200 people were getting my email pitches.

So my hosting company recommended that I take a dedicated server and send as many emails that I want!

I signed up today for a dedicated server, but dont know how to manage it. The hosting comapny has promised to shift my websites to the new server.

Now I am excited all over again – a new light is there at the end of the tunnel!

While I am doing SEO, affiliate marketing, articles, links from forums, and a blog, email marketing is really possible now.

Having been advised to start an affiliate program  – I did. Put the module into the website and decided the policy.

However, not a single person has signed up so far.

So, I came to the conclusion that the affiliate program needs to be marketed, and I dont really know how to do that.

I have posted this as a project in Elance, hoping that I can buy a solution. :)

During this seminar I bought 2 products – Tom Hua’s guides to Internet business and a promise to market my site through his email list, and David Cavanagh’s Newbie course. I paid more than US$ 5000 for both and then was dissatisfied with what I got for it!

Attending David Cavanagh’s 3 day seminar in Pattaya was quite useful, [and he is great when you can catch him] but I was unhappy with Tom’s down-loadable materials.

But when my site www.taxhavencompany.com was ready and he sent out his email – I got more than 400 visitors on a single day!! Wow. Hats off to him. His marketing is stupendous. I bow to him.

Then it stops till that person opts in or verifies! So if the person is too busy to respond, that is the end of the story. Then you have to wait for 30 days to reload the email to your mailing list to reach that individual again! So how can we reach him again and again till he says stop?!

So I tried PhPlist. Installed it on my websites. Loaded up the list. Started emailing. 2 months later I discovered that it only sends the same message once to the email IDs. So I cant resend the same message. Need to get off my behind and write more messages!! And it sends messages only about 8000 per day. Sometimes it stops by itself. So I need to check on it every few hours.

This is all very interesting…
