Not only are there certain cleansers that those with acne problems
will use, but there are also certain medications and treatments that
could be applied to an acne sufferer.
Some of the medications that are used by acne
patients are sold over-the-counter and other acne medications used
by patients are sold with a doctor’s prescription. Likewise, some of
the treatments that are applied to the face of a person with acne
are done right at home while others are done in a health
professional’s office.
Different types of acne treatments include as
follows:
1. Topical Creams: This type of treatment
is characterized by the application of a small amount of cream on
and surrounding the immediate acne-affected area. This type of cream
contains powerful ingredients within it that are meant to unclog the
affected acne area and to help restore the skin to its natural state.
2. Medicinal Treatments: Some patients who suffer from severe
acne that has not been treated by some other method will be
prescribed a medicine that is taken internally. This is meant to
pass through the body in order to correct a major acne problem. The
types of medications that are used for this purpose are usually
offered by way of a doctor’s prescription.
3. Chemical Skin Scaling Treatment:
This involves the use of chemicals on a person’s skin in order to
remove the crusty layer of top skin and/or dead skin cells. This
type of treatment is meant to open up the skin pores in order to
make the application of external acne medications more effective.
4. Natural and Herbal Remedies: Types of
treatment using natural herbs, spices, and other earth-grown
elements have helped some people clear acne problems. For example,
there are masks that have been made from substances such as mud,
eggs, gelatin, and other ingredients that are applied to help remove
excess oil, dirt, and residue from the skin’s surface.
